Sharp Unveils BroadbandFax For Small/Home Office and Mobile Professionals
Sharp introduces a new fax product that moves beyond the traditional fax. The BroadbandFax (model UX-B800SE) uses broadband technology to send and receive faxes directly to e-mail, and to create a stand-alone communications tool for the home, home office or business traveler. BroadbandFax also eliminates the need for fee-based Internet fax services, providing an economical, simple solution for business professionals. "The new UX-B800SE is a cost-effective solution for professionals who need access to faxes when traveling. It receives faxes directly to e-mail so business travelers can view important documents on any computer, ensuring that pertinent information is never lost or delayed," said Dan Wynne, Senior Director and Group Leader, Commercial Markets Sales & Solutions Group. "This innovative product also allows traveling business people to access hardcopy faxes sent to an office without paying for an electronic fax service, as well as sending faxes to a home that does not have a fax machine."
Convenient and Easy to Use Built for convenience, the BroadbandFax has a simple setup. To use, just plug the unit into an existing broadband Internet service provider, phone line and power outlet. It has a full-function QWERTY keyboard, which allows for quick and easy e-mail addressing. The UX-B800SE combines the features of a traditional fax, copier, phone and scanner into a single machine with the added benefit of direct to e-mail faxing capabilities. The built-in scanner enables documents to be sent via PDF or TIFF format directly to an e-mail without connecting to a PC. When the document is loaded, the user can type in an e-mail address, press start and the fax is sent directly to the e-mail recipient. The BroadbandFax is easy to program, with a Web-based system that allows any user on the network to enter speed dial numbers, email addresses and email groups from a Web browser.
