Gordano Ltd. - an international developer of comprehensive enterprise-class messaging products delivering scalability and reliability - announces today the release of a new version of the Gordano Messaging Suite (GMS), a multi-platform messaging system providing an easy-to-use alternative to Microsoft Exchange that is compatible with Windows (NT, XP, 2000, 2003), Linux (Redhat, Suse, Mandrake, Debian, etc), Solaris and AIX.

Zero-Hour Virus protection has been introduced into the Gordano Messaging Suite, further extending the security of the product. The zero-hour interval is the time between the release of a new virus and the deployment of a corresponding anti-virus signature. Because modern viruses can cause significant damage in just a few hours, individuals or organizations that employ only signature-based anti-virus defenses run a high risk of developing an infection during this time. The Zero-Hour virus protection is based on Commtouch® Software's Recurrent Pattern Detection technology, and complements Gordano's existing anti-virus technology.

A new Anti-Spam technology has also been introduced based on Commtouch RPD technology, which provides upwards of 97% proven certainty of catching spam with virtually zero false positives. The language independent technology is also able to reliably catch image-based spam.

System Integrators will benefit from the extension of the integration API into the GMS client software, providing an interface into Archiving, Compliance and Document Management systems. The extension completes a fully featured API which is completely open for use by third parties.

Major steps have also been taken to ensure that GMS extends its award winning Exchange alternative platform. Enhancements include the provision of an Outlook Message Transport provider and a move to PST format client side storage for off-line working, coupled with increased support for synchronization tools.
